Underdogs have been the subject of Hollywood blockbusters and television sitcoms for decades now. But if you really live the life in reality, the situation is quite different. In reality the underdog does not have the glorious redemption of the movie underdog. There is no glory in the life of the real underdog. You live your life forever in the bottom of a well surrounded by cold darkness that slowly eats away your sanity. Unlucky for us there is no bat cave or a fortune that will be your redemption, like Bruce Wayne. We live in the well, slowly rotting and finally die in it. The entertainment world has succeeded in making the life of an underdog seem fun. But there is nothing further from the truth. Our lives are lived in the shadows, beyond the darkest corners of society, and every attempt to be seen is a risk of being mocked, looked down on and gossiped about. We live our lives in seclusion branded as outcasts, but I have to admit that being an underdog does have some pleasures despite being filled with pain. Live on then, yee underdogs of mankind, life does not get any better in the end.
